Navigation on the lake

 Lake Garda is the bigger Italian lake, with an area of approximately 370 km ². It is situated between Lombardy (with the province of Brescia), Veneto (province of Verona) and Trentino-Alto Adige (province of Trento). The waters of the Garda have always been sailed. A particular facility has always been given by the winds, that have concurred developing sailing sports at all levels.
Today every important town is perfectly equipped in order to hold in docks and harbours the boats and the sails. Navigation on the lake with a motorboat is allowed beyond 300 m of distance from the shore, with the exception of the cape of Sirmione, of the gulfs of Salò and Manerba and of the Island of Garda where it is allowed beyond 150 m. The part of the lake in Trentino is instead forbidden to navigation but there are some exceptions. In any case it is compulsory to inquire near the competent authority in order to verify obligations and/or limitations and the maximum precaution is recommended.
